The UK artist Sarah Pickering captured, in her series Explosion, the detonation of bombs as used by the army for training purposes. Her photographies, awarded with several international prizes and soon on show in an exhibition of the Museum of Contemporary Photography of Chicago, underline the terrifying beauty of fire and the evocative force of this physical phenomenon.
